I have started learning Korean on the 8th of August 2022. During this period I mainly used the TTMIK curriculum and not much else.
There where a lot of lovely people trying to help and supplying me with a lot of different resources. So I decided to pick up Anki as that got recommended to me. Keep in mind that at this time I never heard of Anki or knew how it worked. There I went starting with Anki getting the most common decks from people, thinking I am good to go. Oh boy, how wrong was I thinking it was this easy…
I started using the ‘Korean Vocabulary by Evita’ with the default Anki settings. The first few days of using Anki with this deck where fine. I was mainly getting used to Anki and the deck, but after a while the amount of reps and reviews quickly grew and before I knew it I was at a lot of reps and reviews everyday and couldn’t remember a thing either.
So like any sane person would do is drop Anki, thinking “This is not for me”. Looking back at this it was just all very overwhelming getting a lot of the resources and being in the honeymoon phase of learning a language.
